The Nordic Association for Convulsive Therapy (NACT)

Established in 2003 and incorporated as a nonprofit, tax exempt corporation in 2004, is an international organization (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden) dedicated to promoting the safe, ethical, and effective use of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) through education and scientific research. The NACT is associated to the Association of Convulsive Therapy (ACT) in North America. Activities through which this mission is accomplished include: the convening of task forces regarding ECT issues; sponsorship of courses on ECT at the Annual Meeting of the American Psychiatric Association (APA); arrange the NACT Experience Annual Meeting and Scientific; Program, held at the end of August and co-sponsorship of other scientific meetings and ECT training courses throughout the year; Support members of the association with new information in the field such as subscription of the Journal of ECT as well as a possibility to get practical and theoretical advises.
